Surrey Police Service still recruiting new members

The nascent Surrey Police Service is still signing up new constables and civilian staff, though a new mayor has been elected in the municipality promising to keep the RCMP in place if she gets her way.  Provincial authorities and other policing experts have pointed out that the process is already far along to change course away from a city police force now and would be "very" expensive in terms of invested costs. Interesting to see who gets their way. Never underestimate the ability of the RCMP to influence decision-makers and push the brand.

No decision on future of Surrey Police Service until at least the end of the year, as more officers are hired (msn.com)

The SPS uniforms and cars are quite appealing.  And the badges and insignia look so nice and modern. And no yellow stripe....
