The Belleville Police Service has launched its new crest and insignia to coincide with the upcoming move to the force’s new police facility located at 459 Sidney St.

The concept is consistent with the force’s history of “Loyalty, Tradition, and Progress,” Belleville police stated in a media release.

The crest is the departmental crest of the Belleville Police Force. The updated crest has heraldic leaves added to represent tradition, professionalism, pride, and dedication to the community, the red leaves represent the nation, and the blue represents policing.

The new insignia incorporates the red and blue colour concept of the crest. The insignia, which is separate from the crest, will be used in a variety of community interfacing materials and throughout the new facility as well as on tuck shop items for purchase.

“The new insignia bears resemblance to the new downtown district logo launched a few weeks ago. It also displays the date that the Belleville Police Service was created in 1836, and features important words that the citizens of our great city and our service members embody and bestow upon others,” the force stated in the release.
